2. To provide a level of training to residents that will enhance their patient care skills and prepare for entry into fellowships in pulmonary and critical care medicine.

3. To conduct clinical research with an emphasis on minority health issues in an effort to identify and improve social, economic, behavioral, and genetic/biologic factors that impact healthcare disparities in pulmonary disease.

The section consists of two full time, one part time, and one adjunct faculty appointed physicians. Drs. Eric L. Flenaugh and Gloria E.
